Meet the Team: Zach
EMEA General Manager at HumanX
Name: Zach Butler
Title: EMEA General Manager
How long you have been at HumanX: 2 months!
What’s your background, and what brought you to HumanX?
I’m at HumanX to lead our expansion into Europe! I’ve been working in events and media for 14 years now, always around emerging technologies, startups, innovation markets. Actually, I stumbled upon my first event sales role by attending a meetup in London and bumping into my soon to be new boss - and connected. Over the years I then dabbled in content led production before moving into general management of various brands and teams. I’m from the UK but for the last four years I now call Amsterdam home - and I love it here.
What are you most excited about for next year’s HumanX EMEA event?
European AI is finally having its moment and there are some really encouraging developments, scaleup stories, investment and policy movements (looking at you EU-INC!). But, there is still a moment for the best of European AI, those adopting it, and the ecosystem surrounding AI to convene on a global, credible, international stage. Europe needs this to further generate momentum. That is exactly what HumanX is.
How would you describe HumanX in 3 words?
Pivotal. Bold. Unfiltered.
What’s one tool or habit that helps you stay on top of your game, either personally or professionally?
I have always made a point of asking clients, partners etc what else has their eyes and ears when they are not engaging with us. It often gives me unexpected responses and in some cases has sparked ideas for new business models, launches - new ways to better serve our community.
What’s one thing that always makes your day better?
I really enjoy being in a people business and being part of great teams. I’ve been really lucky to work with so many amazing people over the years, from all walks of life and from all over the world. I'm genuinely interested in learning about stuff and being around diverse groups of people is a great way to do that.
What’s one playlist or podcast that gets you through the day?
Anything acoustic helps me focus when working. If there is a beat, then I'm bopping along to it.
