Amber Atherton is a Partner at Patron, an early-stage fund investing in a future shaped by games. A British entrepreneur and investor based in San Francisco, she previously founded a Y Combinator-backed startup that was acquired by Discord. Amber is also the founder of The Atherton Award, which honors young women pursuing careers in STEM and entrepreneurship. Her best-selling book, The Rise of Virtual Communities, was published by Apress in 2023.
