Spencer Kimball is the co-founder and CEO of Cockroach Labs, creator of CockroachDB, the cloud-native distributed SQL database powering mission-critical apps worldwide. A veteran of Google, where he helped build Colossus (the successor to the Google File System), Spencer has spent his career solving the hardest problems in scale and resilience. Before starting Cockroach Labs in 2014, he co-founded the social app Viewfinder (acquired by Square), led engineering at Square, and launched WeGo Systems.
